Trevor Thomson is an experienced trial lawyer and passionate advocate. Prior to joining The Mineo Salcedo Law Firm, Mr. Thomson served as an Assistant Public Defender for the 20th Judicial Circuit, where he zealously fought to defend the rights of the indigent. During his time at the Public Defender’s, Mr. Thomson tried over twenty jury trials and was the attorney of record in over one thousand criminal cases ranging from DUI to complex economic and SVU felonies.
In 2008, Mr. Thomson graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Business Finance from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Outside the classroom, Mr. Thomson played for the Men’s Ice Hockey team at Saint Joseph’s.
In his senior year of college, Mr. Thomson was recruited by Morgan Stanley, a leading global financial services firm providing investment banking, securities, wealth management and investment management services. At Morgan Stanley, Mr. Thomson worked as a financial analyst in the operations division of the firm. There, he specialized in credit default swaps, interest rate swaps, and bespoke over-the-counter derivatives products. Mr. Thomson’s background in both litigation and finance make him a valuable asset in complex litigation cases.
After working for Morgan Stanley for over three years, Mr. Thomson’s passion for justice led him to enroll in law school in 2011. In 2014, Mr. Thomson graduated from Ave Maria School of Law in Naples, Florida. While in law school, Mr. Thomson concentrated on opportunities to hone his craft in the areas of research, writing, and trial advocacy. Mr. Thomson excelled in those areas, serving as the Executive Articles Editor for the Ave Maria International Law Journal, working for his Contracts professor as a faculty research assistant, spending the summer of his second year working in federal court for The Honorable Douglas N. Frazier in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, advancing to the semi-final round in the Robert H. Bork Moot Court Competition, and receiving an “A” grade in Trial Advocacy.
Today, Mr. Thomson continues to fight against injustice, representing home owners, restoration companies, and other vendors against insurance companies who have either underpaid or denied on property claims.
Mr. Thomson is a member in good standing with the Florida Bar and is licensed to practice in all Florida State courts.

Barbara is a South Florida native. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Florida International University in 2001 and a Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center in 2005.
Since her admission to the Florida Bar in 2006, Barbara has focused her career in different aspects of Civil Litigation. Currently, her practice focuses mainly in the area of first-party property insurance litigation where she zealously represents homeowners and service providers with property claims against insurance companies.
Prior to joining the firm Barbara represented some of the Nation’s largest banks and mortgage lenders in the areas of creditor’s rights, consumer finance, and real property litigation. Before that, she practiced in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, and products liability, focusing all her efforts on representing the injured.
In her time as an attorney, she has spent countless hours in courtrooms throughout the State gaining invaluable experience in civil trial practice and procedure. Barbara has done hundreds of bench trials, depositions, mediations and argued successfully at countless hearings. In addition to her civil litigation experience she also has extensive law firm management experience from her time spent as a supervising and managing attorney. During that time, she assisted in hiring, training and supervising attorneys, assistants and support staff while successfully managing client goals and expectations.
Barbara is licensed to practice law in all Florida State Courts and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She is also an active member of the Florida Association of Public Insurance Adjusters and is fluent in Spanish.
Barbara currently resides in Southwest Ranches. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family.

Michael also spent a semester studying abroad and learning about topics such as Women’s Rights under European Law and the history of the civil law system. When not studying, Michael spent his time exploring all of which Spain had to offer along with nearby countries such as Italy, Morocco, and Germany.

Jordan Bieber is passionate about his law practice. He is a zealous advocate for homeowners who have been wronged by their insurance companies. Additionally, Mr. Bieber represents victims of catastrophic medical malpractice events and general negligence incidents.
Prior to joining The Mineo Salcedo Law Firm, Mr. Bieber spent several years handling a variety of complex, high-exposure cases including medical negligence and product liability lawsuits. He has also handled several appellate matters resulting in published opinions by the Third District Court of Appeal. Mr. Bieber has the knowledge, skill and experience to take on the biggest corporations and insurance companies.
In 2007, Mr. Bieber graduated from Brandeis University where he was a member of the Dean’s List. He then went on to graduate from Emory University School of Law in 2012. In his free time, Mr. Bieber enjoys playing tennis and golf.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Mr. Dill graduated from Syracuse University in 1991 with a degree in Political Science and a minor in History. He attended the University of Miami School of Law. While in law school, he was a law clerk to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, participating in the confirmation processes for Justice Stephen Breyer and numerous other Federal judges, in addition to preparing advisory opinions on legal and constitutional issues for proposed legislation. After graduating from University of Miami School of law in 1995, he was admitted to the Delaware Bar in 1996 and the Florida Bar in 1997.
During his legal career, Mr. Dill has represented Fortune 500 companies in bodily injury claims, worked on multiple wrongful death cases, first party property damage cases, personal injury cases as both a plaintiff attorney and defense attorney. He has litigated Americans With Disabilities Act claims on behalf of both the disabled and private businesses. He has tried cases to verdict in Florida state and Federal courts. In addition to his litigation experience, Mr. Dill has handled corporate formation and commercial transactions on behalf of clients.
Mr. Dill now focuses his practice litigating on behalf of Plaintiffs in claims against insurance companies for damages to homes and property. He lives in Davie with his wife Angela and their two sons.

Garrett S. Elsinger earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science and History from Hope College, Holland Michigan in 1993. He earned his Juris Doctor from University of Miami School of Law in 1996. Garrett worked for the Broward County State Attorney’s Office from 1997 through 2003 where he rose to the position of Felony Trial Unit Supervisor and was responsible for the prosecution of vehicular homicide and second degree murder cases. He has been lead counsel in over 100 jury trials in both state and federal courts. In 2003, Garrett opened his own law firm in Fort Lauderdale where he practiced criminal law. From 2008 through 2014 Garrett worked for Purdy, Jolly, Giuffreda & Barranco, P.A. where he practiced civil rights defense and government liability representing law enforcement officers in state and federal courts who were accused of false arrest, excessive force, and negligence. Garrett focuses his practice in the areas of homeowners’ first-party property insurance litigation and general civil litigation. He is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts and well as the federal courts for the southern and middle districts of Florida, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

Insurance claims stories seems to make news headlines nearly everyday, which is no surprise, as 1 in 15 homeowners make a claim each year, according the Huffington Post. Given the many potential disasters that come with homeownership there is a high chance all of us will be reaching out to our insurance provider at one point or another to make use of the insurance we pay for.
While there are certainly stories of simple claims processes, the anecdotes below show there may not be such thing as a standard insurance claims. Some of these stories highlight fraud; others show instances where homeowners were required to pay out of pocket for disasters and faulty appliances. As you’ll see, most of these stories took quite a negotiation to get claims paid and others were unable to collect payment from their provider.
